What: Seminar with Scott Rensberger, Emmy Award-Winning Broadcast Journalist

Who: CAJ members ($20.00) and interested others ($30.00)
Why: Scott Rensberger, one of the most awarded television journalists in North America and "one-man band" will help you prepare for the future of TV news with a session on how to tell a memorable, character-driven story when your main pieces of equipment are a digi-cam and a laptop.
This workshop is ideal for producers, reporters and video-journalists. Participants are invited to bring an example of their work for critique and discussion.

What: Annual General Meeting
When: Thursday, February, 24, 2005 at 7 p.m.
Where: News media conference room on the second floor at City Hall, 1 Sir Winston Churchill Square.
Enter on the east side of the building facing the Law Courts.
(Heated underground parking is available under City Hall at reduced evening
rates.)
Who: The meeting is open to CAJ members and non-members including journalism
instructors, students and public relations professionals.
Why:The chapter will hold elections for board positions and committees,
including professional development, social and membership committees.
The current office holders are listed above.
If you'd like to become active with an organization dedicated to
furthering the cause of good journalism please attend.
Typically the local board meets four or five times a year and stages a
minimum of three events annually.
In recent months the chapter has held several successful events.
We're planning more, including a professional development seminar
and panel discussion this spring.

What: Provincial Election Meet and Greet
When: Thursday, November 18, 2004 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Overtime Broiler & Taproom - 10304 111 Street, Edmonton
Who: All candidates and their supporters, journalists,
communications specialists and students, as well as members of the CAJ
and IABC
Presented by the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ)
and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
Come mingle with the candidates who want to become our MLAs in the
November 22 provincial election.
No rally. No speeches. Just a chance to informally meet and greet some
of the candidates.
Free admission. Happy hour prices until 7 p.m. A limited
