The CAJ 2013 conference will take place May 3-5 in Ottawa at the Westin Hotel. Information on the hotel is available here.

Once again this year, the CAJ is pleased to partner with

Newspapers Canada to present a joint CAJ-Ink & Beyond conference on Friday, May 3.

In addition to joint conference programming that will appeal to members of both organizations,

CAJ will be facilitating tours of Parliament Hill and Ottawa newsrooms for delegates.

Then, Saturday and Sunday, the CAJ conference continues with sessions at the Westin, some offsite full-day data-journalism training and more keynotes and workshops. The premiere event of the CAJ weekend will again be our annual CAJ Awards gala and conference banquet, where we recognize the recipients of awards in 15 different categories.

Registration information

CAJ conference registration is structured to favour CAJ members. Become a CAJ member today to take advantage of the best pricing!

Delegates registering for the 2013 conference with the CAJ are able to attend all sessions, workshops and keynotes (except the Friday lunch keynote) from May 3-5 at no extra charge. A single ticket to the 2013 CAJ Awards gala and conference banquet is included with full-conference registration for members, associate members and non-members. Single-day and student member registrations do not include a gala ticket – these can be purchased separately at the time of registration.

Are you an employee of CBC / Radio-Canada? A discount applies to your registration! You can either register at the rates below and then be refunded the difference after we confirm the details or you can contact us so we can register you manually at the discounted rate.

Will you be attending the Newspapers Canada Ink&Beyond conference (May 1-3) or the National Newspaper Awards gala (May 3)? Check this space in mid-April for more details on special pricing for those attending either of these two events.

  • Members – $239 (includes ticket to awards banquet)
  • Associate members – $335 (includes ticket to awards banquet)
  • Student members – $75 (no banquet ticket)
  • Non-members – $450 (includes ticket to awards banquet)
  • Friday keynote lunch – tickets must be purchased from Newspapers Canada

Day rates (Friday, Saturday / Sunday – no banquet ticket included)

  • Members – $100 / $50
  • Associate members – $150 / $75
  • Student members – $50
  • Non-members – $300 / $150
  • Awards banquet ticket – $90

Regular rates (From April 20, 2013 onwards)
Full conference

  • Members – $269 (includes ticket to awards banquet)
  • Associate members – $385 (includes ticket to awards banquet)
  • Student members – $95 (no banquet ticket)
